Brookside Pupils Tackle an Unforgettable Day Ahead of Rugby World Cup Final

Brookside Primary pupils had an unforgettable day as they joined school children across the country for special rugby sessions inspired by England’s Red Roses. The event, held in the build-up to the Women’s Rugby World Cup Final, aimed to ignite a passion for sport and teamwork among young learners.

Led by expert coaches and supported by the RFU’s grassroots initiative, the sessions introduced pupils to core rugby skills—passing, tackling techniques, and the importance of resilience and collaboration. For many, it was their first taste of the game, and the excitement was palpable as they learned drills used by England’s elite players.

The timing couldn’t have been better. With the Red Roses preparing for their biggest match of the year, the day gave pupils a chance to feel part of the national buzz surrounding women’s rugby. Teachers praised the event for promoting confidence, fitness, and inclusivity, while pupils left inspired by the idea that anyone can pick up a rugby ball and dream big.

Brookside Primary is proud to support opportunities that broaden horizons and encourage healthy lifestyles. This rugby day was more than just sport—it was about teamwork, perseverance, and showing our pupils that the sky’s the limit.
