  • A Trip To The Countryside

    Year 1 took an exciting journey to Odds Farm Park in High Wycombe to learn about the countryside as a part of their Geography topic. The pupils petted the rabbits and fed the goats and sheep; some pupils were allowed to feed the pigs. There was an amazing adventure playground that the pupils played on and a sandy play area. After lunch there was a tractor ride to see the animals grazing in the fields and the pupils and teachers finally went to play in the soft play area with big slides to play on.

  • Nursery Family Picnic

    The Nursery pupils and their parents, guardians and carers, had a wonderful day during their “People who help us” Family Picnic Day. Families, along with the teachers, played a variety of games, danced to some vibrant music and enjoyed each other’s delicious delicacies in the great weather. We wold like to thank our parents, guardians and carers for their continuous support.

  • Hampton Court Palace

    The Year 5 pupils were in awe as they travelled back to 16th Century England in their visit to Hampton Court Palace. The visit provided great enrichment, as well as the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the monarchs of the time. The pupils saw various fascinating paintings and were able to compare their own skills of drawing portraits of King Henry VIII from their own Art lessons. To give a better understanding of how vast the Palace is, the pupils explored different chambers and saw King Henry’s actual kitchen. They were able to make comparisons on how people lived during that period to present day. Overall, the trip was a huge success as they reinforced their learning of The Tudors whilst having a blast!

  • Culture Diversity Day

    The entire school had a remarkable day celebrating their cultural diversity on Tuesday, 21st May. Everyone came dressed in their national costumes and they brought in items to show their peers a representation from their culture. Bridging the gap between cultures is something we encourage and pride ourselves on at Brookside, as we foster the understanding, growth and development of the British values.

  • Nursery’s “Crafternoon”

    Family bonding is very important to us at Brookside. For International Day of Families, Nursery celebrated with a “Crafternoon” session. The parents, guardians and carers, along with the Nursery pupils had the opportunity to engage in a variety of enjoyable activities, including creating caterpillar collages, painting, colouring, making playdough, and doing finger painting. They had an enjoyable time.

  • Stay and Read!

    Reading is one of the top priorities for us at Brookside. Our pupils are given a range of opportunities to engage in reading throughout the day. To develop a passion and love for reading within the home, our parents, guardians and carers were invited to a ‘Stay and Read Workshop’ in Key Stages 1 and 2.

  • Mental Health Coffee Morning

    We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Hillingdon Mental Health Support Team (HMHST) for conducting an informative workshop about anxiety on Wednesday, 17th April. The workshop covered various aspects related to anxiety and was attended by parents, guardians and carers. The participants had insighful discussions on the meaning of anxiety, its symptoms and how it affects the body.

  • Getting Creative with Recycled Materials

    Our students have displayed exceptional creativity by using recycled materials to craft innovative and imaginative 3D crafts. The Eco and Nature Council challenged the children to create these crafts as a way of promoting environmental awareness and responsibility among our students. The projects they presented were truly amazing, showcasing their remarkable effort and hard work. They used various recycled materials such as plastic bottles, paper, and cardboard, and incorporated technology, colours, themes, and much more. What was even wonderful was their ability to explain to the judges how and why they used the different materials to make their art work. Their commitment to sustainability was truly inspiring
