Fruity Seaside Snack

In Year 2, pupils have been learning to write instructional texts. We began by learning the features of an instructional text and completed an activity in order to write ‘How to make a rainbow fruit fish’. We used the fruit to create a fish made of slices of an apple, orange, kiwi, watermelon, pineapple, grapes and a cracker. Pupils saw an example of a fruit fish and they made their version of one. Finally, they got to enjoy their delicious and healthy snack! The following day, we wrote about how and what we did in order to complete making one. Pupils learned to correctly apply imperative verbs and used time connectives to make their instructions clear. They finished by drawing a diagram of their version of a fruit fish.
