Happy Pi (π) Day! 21/03/22
Monday 14th March was celebrated as Pi Day, also known as the International Day of Mathematics, under the theme “Mathematics Unites”, as well as the birthday of one of the greatest scientists and mathematicians, Albert Einstein. The children across the School engaged in various activities and learnt about Albert Einstein’s greatest achievements. They created artwork, wrote poems, researched facts, conducted Mathematics investigations, used pi to learn about fractions, made pi-themed hats, learnt pi songs, found out the value of pi (3.14...) and how it is used. The implementation of pi in the children’s lessons embedded their learning about pi, strengthening the Mathematics culture at Brookside Primary School and paved the way for our budding scientists, engineers and designers.
