Rangoli Art 23/11/20

Many children enjoyed celebrating Diwali over the weekend, however, pupils in Year 5 Pretoria decided to ward off evil spirits and welcome good luck by decorating Rangoli patterns. A Rangoli is a colourful design made on the floor near the entrance of a house to welcome guests. At Diwali, Hindus create bright Rangoli patterns to encourage the goddess Lakshmi to enter their homes. Religious Education teaches ethical values. In lessons, pupils have been learning about various religions, cultivating an open-minded and accepting attitude of the different faiths and backgrounds within the School.
